Melo D Super Bowl XLIII Jan 18, 2009 7:59 PM Well everyone, it's set! From the AFC... hailing from the historical steel town on the west side of PA... PITTSBURGH STEELERS From the NFC... hailing previously from St. Louis, Missouri, now from the Valley of the Sun... ARIZONA CARDINALS Well, I'm not ashamed to say that I'm cheering on the Steelers. This PA girl is proud to rep my state's pro sports teams. I was upset with Philly b/c it was supposed to be a PA All Day Super Bowl. Big WHOMP to the Birds. I still love them though. Who do you think is going to take the Vince Lombardi Trophy and stand tall on the platform? If you watch the Super Bowl purely for the entertainment, here's the line up. Pre-game: Faith Hill National Anthem: Jennifer Hudson Halftime: Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band You can keep track of the Super Bowl news and countdown at http://www.nfl.com/superbowl/43 while we await the big game!

Melo D Beijing Olympics In Review Aug 24, 2008 6:27 PM The Olympic Games went by WAY too fast. :sigh: I know that I've been ranting and raving about the judging/mishaps/stupidity in various olympic sports lately but, that didn't stop me from enjoying them. Well, maybe a little. HA! But, now that it's all said and done, there were some great moments in week 2. But let's face it, between The Opening Ceremony, Michael Phelps' domination, The Redeem Team smashing everyone in the group play, Germany's Matthias Steiner's touching dedication to his deceased wife on the gold medal podium, and a slew of great comebacks and outright victories, Week 1 was better. Well, at least to me. Okay, Week 2 wasn't all bad, just not great. Will there still be controversy in the following days even weeks? Absolutely! But let's all reflect on the great moments. A lot of history was made and tear-jerking moments shared. That just made me think about the Decathlon gold medalist USA's own Bryan Clay (who I think is quite handsome :blushing: ). He tried very hard at not crying during the national anthem. I wish he would have let it out. With that said, what week did you enjoy the most? As always, feel free to comment/air your grievances (in love of course) below.
Melo D ESPN - USA Track & Field to conduct comprehensive review of all programs - Olympics Aug 22, 2008 5:57 PM Yeah let's start by having the trials months in advance and not July. Ridiculous. Next, conditioning. Oy.
